(Precarious Life)

The project focuses on a fictional blind soccer team as the central theme of a

photography project. It begins with the collective sports (swimming, basketball,

volleyball) during the Green Island period of imprisonment, presenting a ghost-like

infinity. By employing surreal means, it explores the impact of White Terror rule and

autocratic governance on the collective unconscious, the body, and social

relationships.

Blind soccer is a professional sport, with participants mostly being athletes with

varying degrees of visual impairment. They use blindfolds to completely obscure

their vision, serving as a common physical regulation, and rely on the sound within

a specially designed soccer ball for movement, defense, and offense. This project

uses choreographed movements to deploy a state of collective suppression,

simulating a non-existent sports team through subtle bodily order, specially

designed rules, and fictional cultural contours. As Judith Butler wrote in her book

Precarious Life, "When one loses, one is also faced with something enigmatic:

something is hiding in the loss, something is lost within the recesses of loss. If

mourning involves knowing what one has lost (and melancholia originally meant, to

a certain extent, not knowing), then mourning would be maintained by its enigmatic

dimension, by the experience of not knowing incited by losing what we cannot fully

fathom."
